If you want to borrow items from Croydon Libraries, you will need to join the library. It is free to join, and you can do this if you live, work or study in Croydon.

To access our full range of services you will need a permanent membership card by visiting your local library with the relevant documents outlined below.

As part of The Libraries Consortium, you can use your card in any of the 23 boroughs that make up the consortium, giving you access to over 7 million titles.

•    You can borrow up to 25 items
•    Items are loaned for a 3 week period
•    Return your items on time or renew them within this time to avoid paying overdue charges
•    Items returned late or renewed after the due date will incur overdue charges
•    There is a small charge to borrow audiobooks on CD
•    If your local library doesn't have the book you’re looking for, you can reserve it for free if it is available within the Consortium

Children’s items borrowed with a children’s library card do not incur overdue charges, but we would still like you to renew them or return them on time.
