Mudlarker Alan Robson will be sharing some finds from the Thames foreshore in his search for evidence of London's long cultural and historical heritage.
Alan has a permit to search the foreshore and has recorded over 120 separate finds through the British Museum's Portable Antiquities Scheme. He'll be talking about mudlarking and the practicalities of searching London's tidal shoreline.
The event will be a "hands on history" experience, so attendees will get to see and handle objects found along the river. These will include fossils from the last ice age, Roman finds, medieval pottery, post medieval artifacts and items from Georgian and Victorian times. All the exhibits have a direct link to London's waterside history.
Refreshments will be provided after the talk.
